Use keyboard shortcut to turn on ToggleKeys
Windows XP provides users with flexibility to activate ToggleKeys feature through Control Panel>Accessibility Options or via a keyboard shortcut. However, users are required to turn on the Use Shortcut option. Once the shortcut option is turned on, hold down the Num lock key for five seconds to turn on ToggleKeys.
To turn on ToggleKeys using keyboard shortcut:
- Click on the Start button and select Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears.
- In Control Panel, ensure that Classic view is selected. (All Control Panel icons are visible.) To switch to Classic view, click on Switch to Classic View from the left pane of the Control panel window.
- Double-click the Accessibility Options icon. The Accessibility Options dialog box appears.
- On the Keyboard tab, in the ToggleKeys section, click on the Settings button. The Settings for ToggleKeys dialog box appears.
- Under the Keyboard shortcut section, select Use shortcut check box.
- Click on the OK button to close the Settings for ToggleKeys dialog box.
- Click on the Apply button and then click on the OK button to close the Accessibility Options dialog box.
- Close the Control Panel window.
Try It Yourself
- Hold down the Num lock key for five seconds to activate the ToggleKeys feature.
- When the Num lock key is held down for five seconds, the ToggleKeys dialog box appears.
- In the ToggleKeys dialog box:
- Click on the OK button, to activate ToggleKeys.
- Click on the Cancel button to close the ToggleKeys dialog box.
- Click on the Settings button to adjust the ToggleKeys settings via the Accessibility Options dialog box.
