Display StickyKeys status on screen
One can set Windows to display StickyKeys status on screen, which will help users find out if StickyKeys are turned on or off. This is also helpful if more then one user is using the same computer. Select the Show StickyKeys status on screen option to display the StickyKeys status on screen.
To select the Show StickyKeys status on screen option, do the following:
- Click on the Start button and select Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears.
- In Control panel, ensure that Classic view is selected. (All Control Panel icons are visible.) To switch to Classic view, click on Switch to Classic View from the left pane of the Control panel window.
- Double-click the Accessibility Options icon. The Accessibility Options dialog box appears.
- On the Keyboard tab, in the StickyKeys section, click on the Settings button. The Settings for StickyKeys dialog box appears.
- Under the notification section, select the Show StickyKeys status on screen check box.
- Click on the OK button to close the Settings for StickyKeys dialog box.
- Click on the Apply button and then click on the OK button to close the Accessibility Options dialog box.
- Close the Control panel window.
Try It Yourself
Turn on StickyKeys by pressing the shortcut key or via the Control Panel > Accessibility Options dialog box. A small icon appears on the system tray indicating that the StickyKeys are turned on.
